UCLA’s Curtis Center for Mathematics and Teaching received a $262,355 grant from The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation to expand its Applied Math Program (AMP) in Los Angeles middle schools. The funding will support a new financial literacy curriculum for sixth graders, completing a three-year sequence. AMP serves students from underrepresented backgrounds and provides UCLA undergraduates with hands-on teaching experience, aiming to improve financial literacy and teacher training in local communities.
