Improving Algebra 1 Outcomes with Innovative, Research-Based Programs
Thursday, Sept. 26th
9:30 – 10:30AM
McCormick Place Convention Center N427D
Abstract: This session focuses on innovative, research-based programs intended to improve Algebra 1 outcomes, particularly for priority groups. One program engages students in investigating math questions related to topics in their communities. The other supports high school students to work with middle school students as near-peer facilitators of conceptually rich and fun math activities. Audience members learn about the programs, hear research findings, and consider implications for use in schools. See the Curtis Center slides here.
