• Math 73XP: Key Issues in K-12 Mathematics

    Learn about the variety of career paths in the K-12 mathematics education profession. Investigate key mathematical progressions in K-12 mathematics. Complete field work in your choice of high school, middle school or elementary school. This field experience counts for 20 of the 600 clinical fieldwork hours required for a CA Teaching Credential.

  • Math 74XP: Mathematics and Pedagogy for Teaching Elementary Mathematics

    Explore K-5 mathematics from a professional perspective. Practice effective teaching strategies for all learners. Discuss current research and standards in math education. Complete field work in a local elementary school. This field experience counts for 20 of the 600 clinical fieldwork hours required for a CA Teaching Credential.

    Prerequisite: None.

    Note: This course is only offered in the Winter quarter. Keep in mind that you do not need Math 73XP before enrolling in this course. However, Math 73XP is highly recommended, so we encourage you to enroll in this course the following year.

  • Math 75XP: Mathematics and Pedagogy for Teaching Middle School Mathematics

    Explore 6-8 mathematics from a professional perspective. Practice effective teaching strategies for all learners. Discuss current research and standards in math education. Complete field work in a local middle school. This field experience counts for 20 of the 600 clinical fieldwork hours required for a CA Teaching Credential.

    Prerequisite: None.

    Note: This course is only offered in the Spring quarter. Keep in mind that you do not need Math 73XP or Math 74XP before enrolling in this course. However, those courses are highly recommended, so we encourage you to enroll in these course the following year.

  • Math 105ABC: Mathematics and Pedagogy for Teaching High School Mathematics

    Explore Grades 9-12 mathematics from a professional perspective. Practice effective teaching strategies for all learners. Discuss current research and standards in math education. Complete field work in a local high school. This field experience counts for 20 of the 600 clinical fieldwork hours required for a CA Teaching Credential.

    Prerequisite: Math 115A, Math 110A or 117, Math 120A or 123, Math 131A.

    Note: Students should complete at least three of these course prior to enrolling in Math 105A. Students may be dual enrolled in Math 105A and in one of the prerequisite courses outlined above.
