Since its inception in 2007, The Curtis Center has partnered with 36 schools, districts, private businesses, and government entities to provide custom services that improve K-12 mathematics experiences for all students. Along the way, we’ve authored 327 inquiry-based activities and 112 Smarter Balanced performance tasks, interacted with 10,000 teachers, and impacted 1.7 million students! Professor Curtis would be proud.

What educators are saying about our trainings:

Current Partner Schools

“UCLA Curtis Center’s team has partnered with our district to understand our math departments’ needs.  They have enhanced the level of math instruction our teachers are providing our students, and have been a pleasure to work with throughout.

I would highly recommend the UCLA Curtis Center for any district with a focus on equity and access to rigorous instruction for all students, high-quality professional development for math instructors, and for those seeking a district partner to provide school-site support.”

– Christine Arostigue-Manson, Director of Secondary Education

Lynwood Unified School District

“The professional development that the UCLA Curtis Center provided our math teachers at Corning HS helped them identify and sequence the most important standards to teach at all three levels of Integrated Math with a stronger emphasis on conceptual understanding over procedural protocols.  These content priorities were made visible through the various “buckets” that provided a clearer flow of curriculum and instruction. Our teachers have also been able to develop stronger mastery quizzes that capture those mathematical concepts and practices.”

– Charlie Troughton, Principal

Corning Union High School District

“The UCLA Curtis Center professional development has increased our teachers’ math content knowledge and provided them with model lessons that increase equity in our classrooms by engaging students in low floor, high ceiling investigations.”

– Kristina Perez, Secondary Education Math Program Specialist

San Bernardino City Unified School District

Performance Task Writing Kickoff Conference

“Just letting you know how much I appreciated being a part of the three-day kickoff event. It was a classy affair throughout. Enjoyed the collaboration and stimulating challenge to write interesting scenarios. Also the CC cup design is fabulous.
Keep up the great work! (Phil would be proud.)”

– Barbara Griggs Wells, PhD.
